We Resist by Glitching Our Asses confronts non-consensual p0rn0graphy as a pervasive form of gendered digital violence.

Using the motif of the glitch as resistance to shame, the project challenges the politics of visibility and the silent violence embedded in online environments. It rejects the binary of victim and perpetrator, refusing to flatten or resolve trauma into clean narratives. 

The work combines self-scans, textile materialisation, moving images and 3D animation as critical visual strategy. inviting viewers into an intimate yet uncomfortable space.

Through speculative storytelling and glitch aesthetics, the work reframes digital sexual violence to confront the smooth interfaces of the apps and platforms that mask sexist narratives as entertainment or ‘sharing’.

Starting from the dynamics of image-based s3xu4l abu5e of the Telegram case, to patriarchal populism rooted in right-wing narratives –echoing in the rejection of the DDL Zan in 2021–, I draw on Monique Wittig’s theory of the straight mind, which frames cis-heteronormativity as a political regime.
Within this framework, I turn to Legacy Russell’s glitch feminism as an active methodology of refusal and a healing practice, where queer artistic and visual practices become sites of intervention, opening to new narratives against systems of domination.

Building on Wittig’s lesbian theory and Russell’s glitch feminism, I explored the economy of exposure of bodies online: how digital voyeurism raises ethical frictions, blurs the boundaries between private and public, and turns digital bodies into collectable and pocketable sources of consumption.
When digital blueprints of bodies are repeatedly weaponised, reclaiming visibility and exposure on one’s own terms becomes a radical and political act.

A performance that serves up a critical take on gender reveal rituals.
Slicing through a curated menu of symbolic and edible cakes, it exposes the ties between Western gender construction and the systemic violence against trans* people and those who do not conform to the binary.

The menu unfolds as a sequence of 4 courses, more or less digestable:

First, comes the CONSTRUCT CAKE, a creation that materially represents the unyielding gender binary within Western culture. It’s a stark reminder of the societal construction of gender, served with a side of critical thought.

Then, the FEED ME, LIKE ME a virtual cake that questions how "sharenting"—the practice of parents sharing their child's life online—extends the binary gender narrative into the digital world, assigning an identity even before the child takes their first breath. Here, you are invited to consider the aftertaste of these online overshares and their role in shaping a future identity.

The tasting continues with the ULTRASOUND JELLO, an edible treat that stirs up the medicalised approach to gender, and how medical practices set the stage for binary thinking, often without questioning the ingredients.

For the final course we propose the CIS-TEMIC BABYCAKE, created in collaboration with Cakethingzzz. The cake offers a dense critique of the social, political, and economic structures that marginalise those who fall outside the norm.

The Candid Zone is a research-based project that confronts upskirting —a violation where non-consensual images of women or female-presenting bodies are captured and shared online. Uncovering uprkiting practices makes us question the displacement of male gaze through digital eyes that record and remember, archive in secret uphold power, reinforcing the subcultural foundations of Red Pill misogyny. 

Developed as a speculative scenario, The Candid Zone proposes a different narrative of this abuse by accelerating the intentionality of exposure. A fictional cam girl flips the power dynamic, turning vulnerability into strength, reclaiming agency over her body and transforming what is taken without consent into a profitable business opportunity.
 
The research starts from questioning the cultural obsession on intimate parts embedded in the heteronormative gaze, treated as a universal metric of categorisation. This fixation often materialises as misogynistic acts like upskirting, pushing sexual harassment into the digital sphere and spawning platforms built on secrecy, shame, and control.

Matetrialised as a performative installation, the project wants to critique hyper-sexualization, misogyny, and the urgent need for societal and legal reform.
